Organ transplant recipients say 'thank-you'.

Organ transplant recipients say 'thank-you'.:

"Organ transplant recipients used a ceremony in Brisbane last night to say 'thank-you' to their donors."

I can imagine this as being a very effective way of encouraging people to donate organs. It is a very difficult situation since the death of someone is an incredible shock and if they are then transported away for organ harvesting it could be exceptionally traumatic for those trying to manage the death. It could also be very uplifting if we know that these organs go on to make a remarkable change in someone's life. This is a very practical but very honest approach. The bottom line is that these living people needed those organ transplants. It makes it real. People are always better at dealing with difficult decisions if they can see the practical and positive outcomes.
