Why a piece of Adelaide might soon be history

The Advertiser: Why a piece of Adelaide might soon be history :

"CENTENNIAL Hall, the Royal Adelaide Showground venue where the Beatles played and thousands of South Australians have sat school exams, faces demolition over safety concerns."

I was talking to some kids over Easter and one of the things we chatted about was how they thought SA had no history. Some had been interstate or overseas and were saying how they liked to look at the old buildings, find out their history, and how "awesome" they were. I am disgusted they would even think of taking down Centennial Hall rather than repairing it. It's a pretty sick attitude to heritage and a state and city is nothing without roots. Those sorts of places just blow over in the slightest wind. Sick, sick, sick. Money, money, money...here we go again.
