Australians want two-tier govt: study. :
"The study by Queensland's Griffith University found up to three-quarters of the people surveyed in Queensland and New South Wales wanted the system changed.
Dr AJ Brown says the most popular option is the abolition of the state system to create a two-tier government."
Can't see that myself. Who on earth did they survey? State Governments are making better inroads with successful change than is the federal government. I think there has to be a misunderstanding here. Yes, I am sure we want change because at the federal level there is no discussion, no debate, no consideration of our diverse opinions. It is a very dogmatic approach we are currently dealing with and we are tired of being told what we think and what is good for us. The state governments are still listening to us and our local state MPs are very well liked and popular on the whole. I am certain we do not want state governments removed. I believe we need some useful changes at the federal level so that the senate cannot be blocked and so that we cannot be railroaded into legislative change which we haven't considered intelligently.Honestly, who did they survey??
