Warning ignored

The Advertiser: Warning ignored :

"Of almost 18,000 drivers tested during the two-day operation, police say 198 had blood alcohol levels over the legal limit."

The message may be loud and clear but if you are yakking on the mobile or plugged into your iPod, guess what, who cares, it's all about me. To think we had had drink driving under control...bugga. Now we are really going to have to do something. Change is action. People do know. They have been told. They are aware...so why don't they care? Not enough pain, I guess. Last time we really had to blitz people were losing their licences from 6 months to a year or more. That's why they changed their behaviour. You're not quite so big and important when someone else is driving your car. What happens now?
