'Dog food' fury

Scotsman.com 'Dog food' fury:

"It dismissed an offer from Christine Drummond, founder of Mighty Mix, of 42 tons of the meat and seed mix."

On the surface, this seems outrageous and offensive to offer starving people dog food. We saw the lady on the news tonight. She is a very quietly spoken, caring lady who creates a nutritious, dry food which she is giving to dogs. It's like a powder and made from natural ingredients and she eats it herself because it's a food supplement. She was genuinely concerned people were starving. The food is obviously transportable, keeps well and is nutritious. The Oxfam representative put it into perspective and explained some of the ingredients would be too difficult for starving bodies to process and that was such a sad thing to hear...that people were so hungry they couldn't just eat. I think this is badly misunderstood because the lady meant well and it is something she should maybe have discussed with an aid organisation. I think it would hurt her deeply to know she has upset people.
