Bush, Annan to meet over reform :
"Management reform at the United Nations has become a top priority of the Bush administration following findings of mismanagement and corruption in the U.N. oil-for-food program for Iraq and extensive waste in U.N. purchasing."
I thought the United Nations, was that..the united nations so I should have thought that the nations in it would have managed the reforms. America said it was useless and bypassed it to invade Iraq. It was ineffectual because it wasn't applying its regulations. I had also heard that ex President Clinton had said Tony Blair would make a good leader of the United Nations. I should have thought the UN could have called a meeting where everyone discussed what needs to be done. There are, however, some human rights issues which Bill Gates and Angelina Jolie understand which would be worthy topics of discussion between Mr. Bush and Mr. Annan. I don't particularly hold it against the UN that some of their programmes and processes are not as they should be, because it doesn't matter where we look , so many organisations and people are now dealing with misappropriation of funds, odd application of policy and I think this is the hallmark of 2006. We are looking for these things and we are making sure we set the picture straight and restore the good. I have come to the conclusion the world was wrong and we have had years of turning a blind eye and now we are telling people to sort it out. No one seems to be blamefree. Even silence is consent.
