Well, there you have it. Scientists have proven you would need to buy 250 spoons a year to keep a constant set of 70 spoons. They really do vanish! They suspect it's caused by resistentialism where inanimate objects dispay an aversion to human beings or perhaps they are just migrating, as per The Hitchikers's Guide to the Galaxy, to a planet with other spoonoid life.
