French smart-card makers merge :

"French smart-card makers Gemplus and Axalto are merging to create a world leader in digital security, with annual revenues of €1.8 billion ($A2.81 billion)."

The French have been working on digital security and I just read ina French magazine about a logo you use on the site of companies who want to sell goods and you can have that money deducted from your bank account, but you have a security number and a number for that product. A bit like our B-Pay system. I'd rather be doing that than rattling credit card details onto an online site. It means people can't scam a number and use it for their own purposes.
