Japanese launch supersonic test aircraft. :
"Japanese scientists have successfully launched an unmanned test aircraft at Woomera in South Australia's far north."
I'd love to see the Japanese excited about this. They were so serious. We weren't!! It was on the news tonight and it was awesome! When it's ready, it'll cut the flight to London to 14 hours, but that'll be a few years yet!! But what a marvellous breakthrough in world travel. They showed the first one being tested 2002 which was hilarious because it spiralled and spiralled with tons of smoke coming out and then crashed. Must have been heart breaking for the scientists at the time , but I remember seeing it then and they repeated the footage on the news tonight. It was funny. Costly, but very humorous. It was a case of I think you need to go back to the drawing board. And they did, and this new model is mighty impressive and as slick as the other one was sidesplitting. Scientists have to be made of very strong stuff. Often their first attempts are funny and we all laugh, but we don't laugh when they come up with the gear and the gadgets which make our lives easier. This supersonic jet will be a mighty step forward in civil aviation.
