This is the new Expressway which has caused a bit of a fuss because some cars were going too fast and causing accidents, then there have been the stupid rock throwers, then the grafitti on the bridges. I didn't realise the police were in my photo, but it is living proof they are out and about early trying to do their bit. The Expressway has also been criticised for only running one way and then they change the direction. It takes 10 minutes off the trip to town but can make that trip a lot easier from down this way. There are hopes it will go farther south since that is becomming increasingly built up. For my part, I never use it. I hated watching it being build and I am only on it if I am a passenger and the driver happens to use it, which is rare. Noarlunga is the site of the Tjilbruke Dreaming Track and this Expressway has ruined a whole section of it. The aborigines can take you on the track and all along the way they will tell you of the meaning of various things and it is very special. I figure the ancestors will still look after it somehow.Tjilbruke, who was a Dreamtime ancestral warrior, travelled through Tandanya, the place of the red kangaroo, and left marks where he rested.
Onkaparinga Heritage I just thought it was wrong to cut into and destroy one of our most significant trails. On the right of the Expressway, you can see the bike trails which people do use.
