Banana blowout

The Australian: Hot spell turns bananas to gold for growers :

"But banana growers and traders say a warm winter in northern Queensland, where 80per cent of the fruit is grown in Australia, has caused the price of the top-selling supermarket item to soar past $1 each."

We have just had a glut of bananas and it has been great. We are banana people! We have enjoyed the banana muffins and banana cakes and bananas in the lunch box. Now what? The weather gave us a glut and now the weather has given us a dearth. Bugga!! Now I'll have to eat chocolate muffins or the good old orange poppy seed ones.
