"Amid the tragedy, about two dozen people gathered in the French Quarter for the Decadence Parade, an annual Labor Day gay celebration. Matt Menold, 23, a street musician wearing a sombrero and a guitar slung over his back, said:
'It's New Orleans, man. We're going to celebrate.'"
God bless their little cotton socks for having the guts to get out there and celebrate their Decadence Parade. The human spirit can be indominatable. I hope they will have cause to celebrate one day. Right now they have all the mess to clean up and their dead to find and bury. The hell is not yet over, but I hope once they've crossed the River Styx, they get to the other side and have the biggest, greatest celebration. They'll need a lot of time to mend their spirits, but Matt Menold is showing them the way.
