NASA readies new launch despite foam problems.

NASA readies new launch despite foam problems.:

"However, the launch of the shuttle Atlantis depends on the US space agency finding a quick-fix to falling fuel tank foam that has grounded the orbiter fleet."

If NASA manages to launch Atlantis in September , then we really shall be cooking with gas. Foam. I don't really understand why foam can be such a huge problem. I know they said the falling foam fell into Columbia's wing and damaged it. But the foam I know is light as air and cushions rather than smashes. Maybe it's not foam as I know it. Evidently not. In the meantime I am nervously awaiting the safe return of these astronauts with our own Adelaide Andrew Thomas. His Dad is also waiting , but has the widom of years on his side. It's a big deal , you know, getting these astronauts there and back in one piece. One day it'll be so normal we won't understand what the fuss was all about. Here's wishing on all the stars over the next couple of nights.
