"HELSINKI - As Indonesian government officials and Aceh separatists prepared to meet for a fifth round of peace talks in Helsinki on Tuesday, hopes were high that they will finally reach a deal to end a drawn-out conflict that has cost the lives of nearly 15,000 people."
I am glad they have taken themselves out of their country onto neutral ground and have made the supreme effort of trying to resolve their differences. It is not easy to admit you haven't got it right and that you need to halt everything and sit and take a completely fresh approach. It tends to suggest these people will resolve their long term differences and will be approved of by their fellow citizens for making a difference. Change is never easy. It does require a concerted effort.
I also hope the talks between China, the US and North Korea will result in peaceful resolutions too.
