Greens question hot rocks' environmental credentials. 09/05/2005. ABC News Online:
"'The hot rocks people seem to be going down the same road as the nuclear industry in a bit of a beat up I think and...until they actually come and give the exact facts rather than their version of the facts, then I think we'll always be a bit sceptical about...everything else they say,' he said."
I blogged about hot rocks earlier because it looked to be a renewable source of energy for us. Now we are starting to get some debate about it . For us, the general public, this can only be a good thing. Experts have hidden in closets too long because people wanted everything discussed in two or three sentences and resolved yesterday because time was money. Well, the dollar driven approach has got us into a state where the earth is rattling, the globe is dimming and the fish are depleting. So maybe , just maybe, we need to do what I've said before: talk to each other. Listen to each other and debate things long and hard before we make decisions which have destructive ramifications..and then we are stuck in oops mode as we are now with Iraq. Some people can and do argue it's all worth it because in the long run they'll be free. They may not see it that way, I don't know, we never get to hear their voices. You have to admit, though, it's a blooming big oops and a lot less blood would be running now to colour their land and history had we sat down with people and spoken with them. Position bargaining never works. It is essential to resolve issues and the hot rocks seem like a good idea because they seems to be a good alternative. I had the thought that maybe it's not so good to drill into the earth's surface because maybe it needs to be kept covered, sealed and hot. That's as scientific as I get as you know if you read my blog.
