Democracy in action

The Advertiser: Off-court battle: McGee lawyer tackles Premier :

"Premier Mike Rann dismissed Mr Algie's criticisms, saying: 'I do not care less what Mr Algie says. My job is to speak out on issues of concern to the people of SA. I'm not interested in what some mullet-headed lawyer has to say.' Mr Rann said the Government was seeking an eminent judge or retired judge from another state to head the inquiry."

The Premier is not happy, the oppositon is not happy, the wife is not happy and many members of the public are dumbfounded and confused. The whole point of a democracy is when we feel something has not come out right we can take another look until everyone's mind is at peace. The law was applied. We need to take another look because it just doesn't seem right and we need the information that will put our minds at rest so that we know our democracy is a happy, healthy one. When you are uncomfortable with something you always seek another opinion to clarify the matter. Always. It doesn't make you right . It doesn't make you wrong. It makes you someone who needs to get their head straight about a matter which is confusing you.
