If you missed Adelaide in the 80s, this is pretty much it. We were all very fit, mad on aerobics and it heralded the era of good fresh food and more exercise which has become a permanent feature of our South Australian lifestyle. We had the outfits, the music, the venues, the TV programmes and videos. We were alive. Speaking of Adelaide Alive - our Grand Prix also featured aerobics groups too. That is how into it we were. This love of fitness branched out into cycling, kindergym, walking, gym circuits and since then we have become adept in finding the right level of fitness activity for who we are so now you find people skateboarding, walking the dog, surfing, body boarding, swimming, canoeing , kayaking...all because aerobics got us all moving in such a fun way.

AdelaideNow... Forget flowers
"Geoff Prettejohn, of Living Colour Nurseries, said the business used to once "sell 70 to 80 per cent flowers. Now we'd be moving around 70 per cent vegies and herbs"."
I noticed in Adelaide last week that a lot of the front gardens did have vegetables and not the usual cottage flowers. I mean in the city in the older houses. Balconies still had the usual pot plants. The suburbs are a different story though and I think people are growing vegies in pots because the water situation is so depressing. Shop vegies have been of concern because we are not always sure where they are coming from and what they are covered with. They are not quality. So growing our own has been good and you just cannot beat the taste of fresh herbs, so even a modest outlay will get fresh tastes into your meals.

Adelaide Alive!
Adelaide was so alive yesterday. It was fun, vibrant and packed! The city was packed and humming and the train was completely full and full on when I was going home. Everyone was happy, chatty and positive. The sunshine had a lot to do with it, I think. We have been fed up with the freezing cold. That is definitely not us. So yesterday we could wear our T Shirts and lovely summer clothes and we were all happy. The Mall had some great buskers but there was also a tent where they were promoting the Limestone Coast. And why not? Our Limestone Coast offers great views , nice places to stay and great regional produce. There was some lovely music and refreshments. Everyone was just enjoying it all. The outside cafe areas were busy and just that bit of sunshine and warmth made all the difference to us. Even if we had to stand in queues, which is unusual, we were chatting away until it was our turn. The best news is everyone was eating tuna salads, fresh yoghurt, noodles and vegies, drinking water and Boost Juice was packed with people at every outlet . They were more than happy to wait in a line until they could get served. This is fantastic news!! The service everywhere was great and I came home thinking , wow, that was great today.
