Road Toll

"The death takes the state's road toll to 36, 10 more than at the same time last year."

It is just so sad this should happen after Easter. The Hills can be treacherous. You always have to drive carefully. We made an enormous effort to stay toll free over Easter. Some drivers were still daft but the rest of us were defensive and the police and media did all they could to help us drive safely. We are just going to have to hammer away at this. We succeeded over Easter and that has to give us heart we can rally as a state to save lives. It's why I like South Australia. We can all get on the same page and raise the same level of awareness. We can lock together to make change. Time to change. Time to stop these deaths and the terrible trauma for police, paramedics, hospitals, the fire brigade and then the families and friends of those who die so young.
