Happy Adelaide

Adelaide had a really nice feel today. Relaxed, busy and happy. The Nylon Zoo was a big hit with the children and lots of people took photos. There was a guy in a light shirt playing guitar and he was relaly cool and the magician drew quite a crowd. People were happy to be there, shopping, eating, just passing the time. There was a good mix of ages which was a good sign and a good range to dress, another good sign. Variety and harmony. Balance. The consensus of opinion seems to be that Hindley Street has deteriorated badly over the last two years and it is basically swarming with kids under the influence and then clueless as to what appropriate behaviour is. Adelaide afraid to take control of kids. The only black spot today was some nine year old...maybe 8, who was at the Nylon Zoo and decided to kick his Mum or big sister in the shins. He was carrying on and gesticulating and remonstrating. So out of tune with everyone else and so odd for his age. I don't think I have ever seen that in town. Adelaide kids can make a noise but they are not aggressive...not as young kids. Anyway, no one bothered much not even his mum/elder sister or mum/grandma. They didn't seem to be bothered he was kicking. Hate to see him at school. Anyway, people were enjoying eating outside as lunch time because it was pleasantly warm and then they enjoyed the buskers today. A really good feel.
