Thinking cap makes savants of us all | The Australian
The hairnet-like cap uses tiny magnetic pulses to change the way the brain works and has led to improved artistic ability, mathematical ability and proof-reading skills.

On the surface it looks and sounds good. A hairnet to slip on your head to make you think better and then you appear to be able to create the sort of thinking advantage that you want. It works on magnetic impulses. I wonder what the long term effects would be? I wonder what the side effects would be? You would still need access to thinking skills and skills which would allow you to advantage yourself in the way you need to be advantaged. You would still need to be taught disciplines in thinking. It also means we wouldn't naturally be artists, academics, musicians, mathematicians. We would be who we decided to be. In that sense it is too planned. Lots of issues to discuss around this thinking cap!
