We have been literally raving about the women athletes at these games. Some star performances have been turned in by the women athletes, not just from Australia, but from every country. 2008 has seem women athletes reach new performance levels and it has a lot to do with their poise, their confidence and their awesome capabilities. We are still talking about he women's road race on Sunday. Most of us saw it and were glued to it. partly because the weather was so cold and wet and partly because that was an extraordinary race of courage. Those women just got out there and did it with great style and even those who took a tumble had our sympathy because they were left to get there by themselves. They had to get out of the ditch or off the road and then just put themselves back on their bikes and ride in that disgusting whether. Some of them rode till they caught up as if nothing had happened. These women were a complete and utter inspiration to us all.We have enjoyed the men's performances too, but the 2008 Beijing women have been in a class of their own.
