Melbourne raid nets ecstasy, cocaine, guns : "Eighteen people have been charged with drug offences after a police operation in Melbourne's northern suburbs."
Drugs are a great leveller. They are running through all facets of society. They earn fame , fortune and a lot of pain and heartache for those involved. Once in, you cannot opt out. We have to continue supporting the police because this is not an easy task for them. They have to bust some pretty tough people, some pretty sad cases and some people who have fallen from grace. They have riddled our society and made families and neighbourhoods suffer. Their impact is far reaching and the amount of money which can be earned from the misery of others is enough to keep people involved. We'll probably never get the really big people involved in the trade. Are they too big for us? When you see happy, healthy people go down the tubes , it's awful. When you are the police in there trying to do your best to get rid of all this stuff, then you are putting yourself at risk. They have been doing well and the networks around the world are being targeted through international co operation. We just have to keep on keeping on to restore the balance.
