Australian links in honour killing of Pela Atroshi

Australian links in honour killing of Pela Atroshi : "The UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women, Yakin Erturk, in a report last year to the Human Rights Council, said she had been told that a 'family council of male relatives living in Sweden and Australia decided that Pela had to die to cleanse the family honour'."

Another woman dead for no good reason. This is something we can do something about. The incredible international networking to solve this crime didn't help the girl but incredible international networking to stop this sort of behaviour because we are in 2008 will work. Originally the behaviour may have been to do with some kind of tribal survival technique. A lot of intolerable behaviour does have a historical sense about it when put in context. This girl was part of this millennium. We can change this. We can publicise, talk, look, open our eyes and do something about it...so it doesn't turn into balcony suicides as in Sweden.
