Elite paramedic service 'in crisis'

AdelaideNow... Elite paramedic service 'in crisis': "Mr McGhie said many elite paramedics were walking away from the service because of fatigue and frustration with MAS bosses using MICA to prop up an understaffed service and urged the Victorian government to step in."

There was an article yesterday about how bosses don't get sick and they don't have major illnesses. Then there have been articles about our skills shortages. So the funding goes into repairing police cars and public property damaged by swarming kids who need a life. We've got people with skills who want to do a good job. Our health care professions ARE professional. They pride themselves on it and when you hear of someone who isn't good...they have badly let a fantastic service down. We could be world standard but money is frittered away on dopey clean up and repair stuff and we need to just shut the money sucking antics down and get on with the real world. We need to support these paramedics and we need to free some of them up so they can train others. It takes the weight off hospitals, it keep us healthy and well and it means we are all part of a functioning community instead of an ill informed and incompetent economically driven bureaucracy which cannot fund the necessary services.
