Crackers, crime spoil New Year's party

Crackers, crime spoil New Year's party: police : "'This rise of firecrackers is troubling and is something that the police have to think through and try to address as they go into the year,' Mr Jamieson said."

They are not just crackers in Victoria..they are here too and it comes and goes in waves and we had a cracker run up to Christmas and it really hasn't stopped. Some of them are very loud and upset the animals and birds. I am not sure where they source the crackers or if they are home made...but yes, injury is a real possibility but some kids are just attracted to that kind of loudness and mayhem and it's always happened. As for other offences, can't say. Adelaide has been very quiet and there certainly haven't been the hoon cars racing around as there often are on New Year's Eve...people are mad to be drink driving, if nothing else, the police being out in force ought to put them off.
