Complaints choir cancels concert

Complaints choir cancels concert : "A choir planning to sing a list of complaints about life in Singapore has cancelled its performances after the city-state banned its foreign members from singing."

Poor choir. Now it has something else to add to its list of complaints. The 60 member choir was founded by 2 Finnish people but the conductor is Malaysian. The Singaporean officials believe only local people should be singing about local affairs and I suppose you can understand that. Sometimes you can criticise form the inside but if an outsider criticises then it might create bad feeling. Since the choir is a team under the auspices of a Malaysian conductor then I am not sure that it would have a bad impact and airing problems often solves them...and certainly singing about them would be a positive way of sharing issues. I am curious to know whether the foreign singers actually live and work in Singapore? I believe the choir will have private performances. I have always said it is difficult to judge things form a distance. I am wondering if this is part of a festival or show and what the people of Singapore think?
