Power, Crows clash may seal teams' fate

Power, Crows clash may seal teams' fate : "Aware of the stakes, Port and the Crows will revert to their most natural styles in likely cold and slippery conditions - the Power to attack, the Crows to defend."

Big match tonight...Power against The Crows at the AAMI stadium. The Crows were going well last weekend and then they lost to Essendon. They haven't had a good year but I wouldn't say they are playing badly. It's one of those transition times teams go through with older players, younger players, some young players who haven't had a match yet and it's just all in the mix at the moment. Power, on the other hand, is running its legs off and doing pretty well. So we are very conscious that this match is a big match for our two teams. For most of us it's that Port-Crows rivalry which we like to enjoy with a lot of good humour. The interesting thing this year is a lot of kids seem to be interested in football and I think that's partly related to the number of young players now going into teams and it is important to keep that football plate spinning so young kids want to grow up playing the match. When we neglected it , then Australia just lost its spirit. Even if we can't all love and appreciate football, it is something which is at the heart of us and our nation. Today's match is something South Australians are really gearing up for and there has been such a good spirit around it all. I can imagine if people are not there, they'll be having their foootie evenings at home. It is freezing, it is wet...I hope they get the crowds in because it is better for the players. I think they will, it's a pretty big match.
