Paris hails bicycle revolution

The Scotsman - International - Paris hails bicycle revolution: "Under the Vélib scheme, anyone can use one of the heavy-duty bicycles by simply swiping a travel card. Users can leave the bike at any rack anywhere in the city."

13,000 people have signed up for the annual subscription, not a lot in a city of 10 million, but if it works well, then the snowball effect will come into play. Great idea for a big city...any city, really because it keeps traffic under control along with the pollution. It would actually be nice to have traffic free inner city areas. Save on carbon, save on money and a great bonus for health. The scheme has obviously taken off, I hope it just grows and grows.
