Cannabis smokers risk psychosis

Cannabis smokers risk psychosis : "“While the majority can take the drug with no mind-altering effects, it is estimated that 10 per cent are at risk. You only need to see one person whose mind has been altered and life irreparably damaged, or talk to their family, to realise that the headlines are not scaremongering but reflect a daily, and preventable, tragedy.”"

You have to wonder why we have a society which is so drug dependant. Generally drugs get you away from reality. So why do people need that? Why do they stay lost in it? If we have such a great society , why are people blotting themselves out? They give up being responsible for themselves. They are bailing out. Why? The impact on others and the drag it creates in society is significant because we are carrying this massive boulder through life with us each day. It means funds and expertise are going into areas which really could be avoided. This is a massive study across 35 countries and we have had cannabis use for long enough now to know what long term effects are. We have had people working with cannabis users to be able to come up with some decent , believable findings. What to do with it all and how to prevent it is the thing. We are not very healthy when we choose to opt out of life and a society which creates that kind of behaviour needs to be looked at.
