What walking speeds say about us

What walking speeds say about us: "'Pace around the world is 10% faster than ever before. That's not great for our health. As people speed up in their lives they are not eating properly, exercising or seeing friends and family. All these things can lead to all kinds of things, especially heart attacks.'"

We are walking around faster than ever before and Singapore tops the list. We have been secretly times!! No Australian cities are on the list on the site. London comes in at 12. Some people half run or they are bumping into you and saying sorry, sorry. They'll learn. You wouldn't run a machine or a car that hard and not expect trouble. If this is what technology is bringing us, what are we going to do about it? A lot of people have already down shifted. Some people haven't survived. I learned my lesson when I went to Vanuatu. When I arrived it was like I had been put on the fast forward button and everyone one else was going slo-mo. I felt like a twit. I watched the ni-vanuatu and their easy, relaxed movements. The heat and humidity have a lot to do with it. You cannot keep up a frenetic pace there. When you see really relaxed people and participate in their life style you realise we have lost a lot. More than that you realse how beautiful they are and how much they value each other and you. Slow people value each other and they see and notice things. The article does go on to provide some healthy walking tips. It's nice to see people go off on a walk and take the friends or family with them. We need to slow down. Our lives will be richer.
