Dentists refuse to treat bad teeth

Dentists refuse to treat bad teeth: "DENTISTS on the National Health Service are turning away people with bad teeth because they say they are only paid enough to treat patients with a good dental health record."

I am pleased to hear this. I thought it was only our dentists who were adopting a primadonna approach to dentistry. The amount of huffing and puffing, sulking, groaning and complaining we have had when they actually have to do some real dental work has been extraordinary. They have even been making it hurt for anyone they think should not be bringing them abscesses, dirty teeth, broken teeth or anything more than a look and clean...as long as it's a quick clean. We are all getting fed up with it because we are paying for pretty shoddy treatment and it's such a relief when you get a nice dentist who doesn't mind doing dentistry and whose practice actually sends out reminders That's the other thing we are begrudged. For all the talk about oral health and dental hygiene, we are not being encouraged and we cannot help our teeth. It's what dentists are for and we used to have brilliant dentists. It was one of our brilliant dentists who got me over my total fear of dentists. I do not know what is going on.
