Mexico City plays fairy godmother

Mexico City plays fairy godmother : "The keynote speaker was a 16-year-old who said she missed having her own quinceanera, the traditional rite of passage for girls near their 15th birthday, because she was busy caring for the baby she had at 14. She urged the other girls to make informed choices."

What a great gesture and it will be rewarded in kind by these children as they grow older. I am certain they will not forget this act of kindness and will be stronger citizens because of it. Those who have not , do not take this kind of thing for granted. We've seen that with the jamie Oliver training programmes. It is also a great thing for the community, to know they have been party to something good and life changing. If there is a next time I hope they will find some suitable young men for the girls dressed in their finery. That would be the icing in the cake!
