Teacher in trouble over meth maths question

Teacher in trouble over meth maths question : "Local news reports said the principal at Moriarty High School in New Mexico believes the teacher 'made a misjudgment' when he posed this question to his students:"

This seems to be without context.Obviously not your usual ditch diggers, cows and sheep, a's and b's and the usual twaddle in Maths books. How I remember those stupid maths questions. So empty. So unrelated to me and my world. Who cared how many men could dig a ditch in 5 days if so many many had done it in 3. Compelling questions. So what was the make up of his class? What sort of students were they? Did he have their interest or was he trying to be clever? I think you need to look at his clientele and his motivation because , in the end, he could probably use his maths knowledge to show young kids that the meth business really isn't worth while and that other businesses would give them a better bang for their buck. He could put in all the liabilities , overheads, risks...you could actually really teach some kids some really worthwhile lessons. If the question had them motivated, then it's better than the bloomin' cows that turned me right off maths. And the tree measuring on an angle. Dull, dull, dull.
