New cancer drug could save thousands

New cancer drug could save thousands :

"'The way it works is it interferes with new blood vessels growing into tumours and it also prevents the tumours from spreading by inhibiting an enzyme they need to spread with,' Prof Parish said."

Professor Parish has been working on this new drug for 20 years and clearly he is a man who will offer something remarkable to humanity. If this drug passes the clinical trials it will create a major breakthough and help those with cancer to live longer. As long as they live then there are hopes for newer and better drugs. We have to get rid of this scourge. If Heparanase slows the growth of cancer then more people will survive with a quality of life for longer and combined with other treatments it may well give them a normal life span. It's what we should aim for and the research needs to be supported.
