Ken Turner

AdelaideNow... Killing sparks dad's mission:

"KEN Turner is on a mission to reach the hearts and minds of every teenager in South Australia.
And, if his message saves just one of them from making the wrong decision, he believes the years of hard work will have been worth it."

Nothing like a man on a mission and it is so sad it means his daughter was stabbed to death and that became the motivating factor to help other young people. Perhaps it can come no other way because a lot of young people put themselves at risk and need to hear from the hearts of people who know the horror of it all to get the message.

Mr. Turner has turned the death of his daughter, Shirree, into a positive path for young people. He is acting as a guide and elder and obviously has the courage of his convictions. It must be so difficult for him to face this loss of his daughter and yet reach out and be prepared to help others in such a positive way. What a gift to our society.

He and his wife have designed a programme to help young people make the right choices. It's about staying alive because there are people out there who take advantage and they are not always found, caught and punished as Mr. and Mrs. Turner have found out. The programme they have developed has been presented to some school children already and they are looking for help and donations to keep it going. The Law Foundation has helped them establish their charitable site Crossroad Connexions. So far the support has come from various legal agencies. They need more sponsorship!
