Costs from pre-school to university

AdelaideNow... Costs from pre-school to university:

"So, taking into account that this is a rough estimate of fees, with not all expenses included, a childs education journey might cost anywhere between $7,653 (without childcare) up to $190,895 for a full time private education including a University degree."

Not very realisitic costing. Most people do have to put their children into child care these days and have had to for a long time. One wage does not go far and when I worked and had to pay child care I was so broke. So broke. Year 12 , and this is 5 years ago cost over 1000 dollars per child because of the amount of resources you have to buy and the field trips. It was not a cheap year. The TAFE and Uni figures are pretty right, but there are extra costs at TAFE because you have to purchase capital equipment whereas unis tend to loan it, so my experience tells me there is not a lot of difference in the long run. The fees are very high for the amount of time tertiary students actually attend class. But, it's not just about the money. It ought to be about learning and education. TAFE really delivers on that. Schools and unis vary. A lot of achievement is held up because there are so many sporadic attenders to classes and courses. It has created a real drag for the ones who are there and doing, so you don't always get your money's worth and through no fault of the institution. Depends who is enrolled in any given semester.
