New scholarship for SA students

New scholarship for SA students :

"SOUTH Australia's top students who take up an offer to study at the University of Adelaide next year will get a $10,000 scholarship."

Even though I am a Flinders graduate and pleased to be, Adelaide had a long standing tradition of scholarship and excellence which has been eroded. Flinders was a different type of learning environment which is why studying at either one was good, depending upon who you were. Uni SA only added to the mix in a good way. When Adelaide lost that traditional hall of excellence feel and name, it was a loss. It is good to see Adelaide fighting back because it was one of Australia's top universities and with good reason. Then it just lost the edge and traded on its laurels. Now it has bitten the bullet, I am certain it'll go forward with determination and success. I have been inspired by many graduation ceremony speakers at Adelaide...it needs to reinvent itself because it makes a substantial contribution to our intellectual landscape...and provides the balance we need here.
