Astronomers fight to restore Pluto's planet status.

Astronomers fight to restore Pluto's planet status. :

"'We as planetary scientists and astronomers do not agree with the IAU's definition of a planet, nor will we use it. A better definition is needed,' says the petition, placed on the web at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/planetprotest."

A dwarf planet is still a planet. Size doesn't matter, does it? I can't believe Pluto would have its status removed when there are so many astronomers who do not agree with it. I also am astounded by how many people actually care!! We want Pluto to be a planet. It has been a planet all our lives and to go through this unscientific bally-hoo which just changes it to a dwarf planet just about typifies where our thinking is at. Confused and lacking in clarity. So, leave Pluto alone and don't change things when so many experts can clearly point out errors.
