Nuclear debate a farce

Nuclear debate a farce:

"'The prime minister's creating one his great false debates, flying kites, making mischief, and covering up for the fact that he's done absolutely zip on climate change - nothing in the budget for it,' Mr Garrett told ABC radio.

'(He) abolishes the Australian Greenhouse Office. We've seen half a billion dollars worth of investment in wind farms and alternative technologies go overseas because of this government's lack of action."

About time Peter Garratt weighed in on the debate because if anyone can turn our fait accompli aka the liberal debate into a real debate - it is Peter Garratt and the other people out there who know a lot about nuclear issues. In this short article we have some facts and figures which can put us in the picture. It actually hadn't occurred to me that the "nuclear debate" ( we are having nuclear energy full stop end of story) could well be deflecting other issues , most noticeably we need to do better with renewable energy and do better with respect to global warming. These are issues which affect us. They are having an effect now. I hear Wollongong would make a nice site for a nuclear power station. Do the people of Wollongong agree? While we are busy thinking about nuclear energy and its ramifications, what are we not considering. Yes, Mr. Garratt. Tell us more because why else are you in parliament at this time? There is a reason and you know an awful lot.
