Warning on drug 'more addictive than crack'

Scotsman.com Warning on drug 'more addictive than crack':

"'It has not yet affected that much of western European countries and the UK but, as we know, as drug misuse occurs in North America sooner or later it gets here. Methamphetamine is today's problem drug. We think that it is extremely worrying.'"

Crystal meth is not new but it's uptake is going well now. We can be so pleased with our achievements that we've finally got the marketing right. I guess my mum put it into perspective for me when she was having chemotherapy and suffering from its side effects. We managed the sadness of her hairloss but one day I went round there and at 73 my mum said to me, "You know, I've been thinking about the young kids. I can't understand why anyone would deliberately and knowingly do this to themselves with drugs and they haven't even got cancer and I'm taking medical drugs, not the stuff the kids get fed." Crystal meth is pretty handy, though, because you can make it from household products and it can be injected, eaten snorted or smoked. You can die from blood pressure spikes and heat failure, just to add to the excitement and it slowly eats away at the brain to create Alzheimer's type behaviour. In the short term it can create anger and aggression problems so everyone will be kept busy and on their toes and then be lumbered with people who are paranoid, aggressive, suffering from hallucinations and delusions. It's a great mind and body wrecker so , we really need to get ourselves ready for managing the chaos. Or do we smarten up and actually show people what this will do to them? Do we let it just happen or do we plan a line of attack to combat it? Why do we just sit there and take it and how come people so easily pick up on the sorts of things which will ruin their bodies and their lives? We are nuts.
