Green group applauds environment policies.

Green group applauds environment policies. :

"'The national approach to saving the river has so far failed to deliver, so it's vital that both parties commit to buying up water licences on our side of the border if we're to see any water returned to the river in time to save it and therefore secure South Australia's future,' she said.

The council has also endorsed an Opposition commitment to create 19 marine parks by 2008."

I applaud our politicians too because in SA everyone is trying to make it better and it's a great team effort no matter which party you endorse. That's the way it should be . That's the way I like it and I am becoming more and more pleased that we are returning to being the state which can actually co operate and achieve through group effort. Someone has to steer the ship, someone has to look out for the dangers, someone has to feed the crew and someone has to keep us all happy and on track. We have started to be a very focussed lot because everyone has a useful role. It's not about points scoring. It's not about character assassination either. I was pleased when we have all stood up and protected people who should never be brought down by public humiliation. I have been equally pleased when we have planted a size 16 boot on the backside of people who need one. We have had to repair the state image. We have had to get jobs and hospitals back in order. We did need to get our bottoms into gear over public transport and we have had to look at destructive groups and the erosion of our environment. The government has taken some good initiatives but the opposition and independents get in there with the reminders so that things stay on the agenda. At this point in time I am really happy with SA and what we are doing because we have made a chance for everyone to take a positive role in our state . Every age group has something to do and to look forward to. And no, we can't sit here and crow about it, but we can be happy with our progress and know we are in a position to move forward and do better.
