The Advertiser: Beach patrol boost :
"Named after Nick Peterson, who was killed by a great white shark at West Beach last December, Nick is the first helicopter owned by Surf Life Saving SA."
The Nick, when we hear it , will remind us all of Nick Peterson because one way or another, what happened to that young man and his family has crept into all our hearts. It's a pity Nick had to die and his family had to suffer for us to put shark patrols back and return to our sky surveillance. It was why we had had no shark attacks in 20 years and then we got slack. It's so easy to forget. We hadn't even thought about sharks we had kept ourselves so safe. It may give some small comfort to his parents when they hear the helicopter to to know it's named after Nick.
