Bakhtiari boys

Bakhtiari boys seek return to Australia.:

"Alamdar, 16, and Montazar, 14, have apologised to the Australian Government and blamed their deportation to Pakistan on the lawyers who acted for them and the activists who supported their cause."

The Bakhtiaris always claimed to come from Afghanistan and it is currently their home again. They were deported in a very bizarre way a while back and sent to Pakistan. At one stage the boys had run away here and had to be rounded up and returned to detention. Now they are apologising and want to come back to finish their schooling. They are apologising to the Austrlaian Government and blaming the deportations on the lawyers. At the time it was all the other way around as far as we could tell and so Dale West from Centacare, who took a personal interest in the family, is planning to talk to the boys. Alamdar is saying that the family had travelled move from Afghanistan to Iran for several years then to Islamabad in Pakistan before coming to Australia. They couldn't stay in Afghnanistan because of the situation at the time. As I said in a previous blog at the height of this story, in my experience Bakhtiari is an Iranian name. Given this is all a bit of a muddle now, I am wondering how this story will now unravel.
