Energy consumption to escalate:
"'We are expecting a substantial rise in natural gas consumption in the mining and mineral processing industry.
'Also we're expecting a significant increase in our alumina production over this outlook period by something like 90 per cent.'"
Oil and liquifued natural gas from 22% to 51% by 2030 and a prediction that natural gas consumption will increase by 60% over the next 26 years. Our energy consumption will escalate dramatically because of oil and mineral processing and alumina production. Is the oil for us? SA doesn't have it's own oil any more. So, did we know all our time and energy was going to go into all of this? How does Dr. Muhammed Akmal know this is going to happen? I do wish news would give the information I need to make sense of this.
