Body scans

London bombs terror attack The Times and Sunday Times:

"The scanners can spot the waistcoat bombs usually worn by suicide bombers and automatically send an alert to nearby officers. Unlike other scanners, they can cover crowded entrances without the need for people to be stopped for individual checks."

We have to do something and we have to use the technology, expertise and brains of 2005 to combat these nutcases. I had an explosives scan at Sydney airport. It was neither invasive nor unpleasant. It took a while because the procedure was explained to me. Once procedures and means of protecting people are commonplace they will not take time. Anything is better than nothing. We can't go on like this.
