'Predator' grandfather jailed | The Australian

AN elderly man who sexually abused eight members of his family over almost four decades was a vile and parasitic offender, a judge said today.

Well, no amount of criticism is going to make us improve and this man may well be a predator and it's fantastic the family could finally find the courage to deal with it, because we live in a world where this just keeps happening and it has to be us. This man would not get away with this if we could deal with sexual abuse better. The family must have been living in pain for such a long time. They are safe now, but we need to have a very close look at this man and others like him. Why do they behave like that? What are we doing that allows them to be able to progress from one child to the next? What do we need to know so we can feel free to deal with it and how can we deal with it? What is the best way of not creating people like him and what is the best way of combatting people like him?
