Closing session of 2020 summit commences

Closing session of 2020 summit commences : "The Australia 2020 summit has reported its first official idea - and it's Kevin Rudd's."

Well, actually, we seem to be reporting quite a few ideas in this article and the summit sounds like it was very productive, very positive and just what we needed. We have been forced into a rut for years and our thinking has been repressed because we were being told what was good for us. A nation has millions of minds. Free them up and utilise that energy and brain power, the creativity and complexity of thought and you have to be putting yourself in a strong position as a country because people are full of good ideas. Everyone thinks differently and if people are thinking in ruts then it's because they have been conditioned to do that and then been knocked back for having a different idea. All ideas are worthwhile because they trigger other ideas. Then people will consider whether they are feasible and workable and even the most outlandish ideas will create something productive and useful because outlandish frees up the thought processes. I like this idea we can work together as a country on our future. I like the idea we can all contribute to the development of a nation. I like the idea we are not put in the position of being gagged and stifled because it means we dry up and become husks. A dog cooped up in a pen is nowhere near as happy and well as a dog which can run free but is being looked after and guided. I like what I have read of this and I am sure some people will feel like they didn't get heard. There is only so much you can do in a short time frame. I am hoping this is a start and that it will occur on a regular basis.
