Aussies should 'live in glass houses' : "AUSTRALIANS could soon be living in solar-powered glass houses as part of the battle against climate change, a researcher predicts."
Architecturally and scientifically there are some interesting possibilities in terms of house design and creating houses which match our mad climate. Nature's not mad, we are. We created this mess but maybe those of us not responsible can rise to the occasion and create ourselves something which redeem those of us who are hell bent on stuffing up the planet. I have long thought solar cells should be built into our houses, but we have to match the glass areas against the fact in our heat, we'll make hot houses! That balance has to be achieved. Then we have to deal with security issues because we accept we have people who are entitled to break into our homes. There are quite a few who just think they can break in and do as they please. It's not something we teach people not to do. So sitting in a glass house through excess heat, won't have high appeal. Generating energy from the heat will be a great breakthrough. There are bound to be other ideas too...It is an opportunity for creativity and invention.
