Australian tourist numbers down

Australian tourist numbers down : "INBOUND tourism to Australia is lagging behind the rest of the world, with visitor numbers increasing just 2 per cent compared with a global average of 6 per cent growth last year."

We've had massive floods, incessant bushfires , stringent water restrictions...sharks, high petrol prices..who is going to come here to look at dry, crsipy bits, flooded bits, pay through the nose to travel around, pee on the lemon tree and watch the dried up Murray?? The news is out there. The tourists I've met here are having a whale of a time, but we do not sound good and we are not easy to navigate if you are unfamiliar with the size of our land and its current water deprived state. Been down to Goolwa lately??!
