Collie murder

Teens to serve 15 years for 'gruesome' murder of friend. : "Two teenage girls have been sentenced to life imprisonment in Western Australia for murdering their 15-year-old friend who they then buried in a shallow grave in the south-west town of Collie."

This will make them 32 and 30 when they are eligible for parole so it's not a life sentence. A 30 year old is different from a 15 year old. Of course the grand father is angry. What they did to Eliza is really and truly beyond belief and shows no regard for life at all. It is very difficult to comprehend. The family must be in agony trying to come to grips with this. I hope the girls will not be put in the same place. I hope they are housed separately, but then again, what do you actually do with girls as young as this who seem to be able to do things like that? They might influence others. I guess 15 years is long enough for people to work with them to try and make some sense of them. We have to be able to understand this really well because we do not want it to happen again. We have to know how we created two girls like this. We also need to know if we can undo the damage. We need to have a chance to be able to work on them. In prison conditions I am not sure if this is possible and the thing is, they may never ever change. They really are very, very sick. I feel like we need a chance to turn them around, but when they have no regard for themselves nor anyone else at 15 and 17, I really do not know if this is possible. They certainly cannot be set free because no one is safe, not even them.
